In this article the writer describes a boy called joel who leads a connected life on the farm .
The farm where he lives with his family is called the Holland Farm.It is 245-arce farm.It was bought by the great grandfather of joel in 1860.
Besides studying in a private school,joel helps his father and brothers at the farms. He likes farming very much. He spends most of his time in the barn taking care of sheep.
He feeds them with full devotion.
Joel is a teenager but he does those works which adults do.He knows all the techniques which are necessary for modern farming. He knows how to operate machines.
He knows how to drive powerful vehicles like tractor etc.He is mechanic also.He knows how to repair the machines and vehicles which are used in Holland farm.
In short ,he knows all those skills which are necessary for running a farm.
The main aim of Joel is to become a farmer .
He tries to learn more and more about farming. He is the youngest of Holland's six children. He takes keen interest in learning new skills from his elders.He is not a shirker.He can always be seen doing one thing or the other.
He gives preference to country's life over city's life.The only place where Joel wants to live is the Holland Farm.
Besides working as a farmer,joel spares time for recreation. He takes part in different sports.His favourite sports are those which are played outdoors.
He hunts deer and traps wildlife in autumn.He plays softball and basketball in spring while water -skiing and fishing in summer.
Joel feels extremely happy on weekends and during the summer.During these days,he works outdoors from eight to fifteen hours.He does not like spring season because it brings too much rainfall.
Moreover, the snow melts during these days.Mud can be seen everywhere, making walking difficult. The melted -snow and rain render everything ugly and awful.
